Travelling through music and images
We designed this vinyl cover for a psychedelic rock band we named Baroudeurs, after a French word for adventurers.
Our conceptual framework for this project is the journey through space and time. We noticed that landmarks have a peculiar way of representing both time and space, being at the same time a testament to a different era and symbols of the land they belong to. For this reason, we named this album "Monument".
To convey this musical experience before it is even heard, we used a visual storytelling device. The vinyl cover becomes therefore a part of the overall artistic value, enhancing the musical experience.
We used a bright colour palette to express the surreal, dreamlike value of the adventures of these Baroudeurs. The end, or beginning, of the journey is a place above the mountains, that houses two whimsical monuments, which offer the observer a further, personal experience.
